DAFT Punk's love affair with Tron

Daft Punk's music video Lose Yourself to Dance

Daft Punk are Thomas Bangalter and  Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.  The vocals are sung by Pharrell Williams.  At the 2014 Grammy's the French duo won a Grammy for best pop duo or group performance for their song "Get Lucky".

I love this video.  The set looks like a Spaceship about to beam everyone up.  The keyboardist and 1 guitarist are wearing Tron-like helmets.  The band is wearing ultra cool shimmering jackets.

I think Daft Punk have a love affair with Tron.  They also recorded the entire Soundtrack for the movie Tron Legacy (featuring Olivia Wilde as Quorra).

Featured artist Lorde - songwriter, fashion icon, teenager

New Zealand's own Lorde

Team by Lorde - the catchiest tune I've heard in a while.  The above live performance filmed when Lorde played for an audience on Letterman back on November 12, 2013.

And just performed at the Australian ARIA music awards.

Born Ella Yelich O-Connor to Sonja and Vic.  Lorde sang for a talent show when she was 12 and this was forwarded to a record company.  Lorde started writing songs when she was 13.  Her song Royals which skyrocketed up the charts is about growing up in New Zealand.  Before you can get into Clubs and stuff you pretty much sit around and wait.

Having watched a few of these videos off Letterman I am kind of reminded of Bjork.  Just the way she moves her arms and body.  Quirky but mesmerizing.

Mentioned as fashion role model.  Check out Lorde's style:

The second long black dress also available in red.

Japanese influenced Costume wins Fashion Design award

Brittany Glassey winner 2013 HETTANZ Fashion Awards

I have to shout it from the rooftops when I get news like this.  I am very excited as I too love the Japanese Street Fashion.

16 year old Brittany Glassey from Christchurch, NZ came 3rd in the Senior Creative Section of the 2013 HETTANZ Fashion Awards.  Her dress was inspired by Tokyo Fashion and costumes and involved sewn-in LED lights and luminescent wire.

In December 2012, she also came 2nd in the Intermediate Creative Section.  2012 was the first year the awards were co-ordinated by HETTANZ.

When she was very young she used to make dolls clothes with a sewing machine.  Then had a renewed interest in sewing when she studied Textiles at High School last year.  She has been making dresses and things ever since.

Epic Rap Battle: Nerd vs. Geek video featuring Cosplay

This Music Vid is Epic!  Funny as!

Sung by Rhett & Link, WHO!?

From the US,
"Rhett and Link is an entertainment and advertising duo consisting of Rhett James McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln "Link" Neal. Self-styled as "Internetainers" (a portmanteau of the words "Internet" and "entertainers"), they are known for their online viral videos and comedy songs as well as for their one-season TV series Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings on the Independent Film Channel in which they filmed low-budget commercials for local businesses across the United States.  The duo run two YouTube channels, a main channel, Rhett&Link, which has over 200 million views and over 1 million subscribers, and a second channel, RhettandLink2. On the 25th of April 2013, they began their weekly 30 minute program "The Mythical Show" on RhettandLink2 which aired Thursdays at 5pm EST for the next twelve weeks."

View Yaya Han's Cosplay Q & A video

Yaya Han talks Cosplay

Yaya Han is a professional cosplayer, artistic model and costume designer based in the United States.

Yaya Han as Jessica Rabbit below

Yaya is a regular judge at Cosplay Cons (as in Conventions).

Yaya was featured on the Syfy channel's Heroes of Cosplay.   This show has not aired in New Zealand.  But for me I guess I am happy if Cosplay has grown enough in popularity to warrant a reality TV show.  Regardless of any negative comments surrounding this I still think it's good publicity for the hobby.

Yaya appeared as a guest judge on another TBS reality show King of the Nerds.

Yaya used to work as a technical analyst for a software company, but now gets booked to appear at events and sells calendars and prints of herself in costume, as well as operating her own store of handmade cosplay products. She no longer competes in cosplay contests, and instead chooses to serve as a panelist and judge for them.

Yaya's brand new website is about to be launched!
