Walking Dead's Norman Reedus - this week's Cosplay character profile

 

 

 

Character profile Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon

AKA Norman Reedus

Character's name - Daryl Dixon

Featured in - Walking Dead, TV series about a virus that takes over Earth and causes people to become human-eating Zombies.  His weapon of choice is the crossbow.  Daryl Dixon is played by Norman Reedus.  Norman Reedus attended the recent San Diego Comic Con 2013 convention.  He has a son, Mingus Lucien born 1999 to model Helena Christiensen.  He has been a model and featured in various music videos.





Hair - brown spikey hair, facial hair (moustache and goatie).  Rough and ready look.

Eyes - Hazel green.  In 2005, while in Germany, Berlin, Reedus was in a car accident. He had to have surgery and his left eye has a titanium eye socket and 4 screws in his nose.

Costume - Sexy warrior.  Best feature I think is the crossbow.  He wears a brown worn or ripped t-shirt, black torn pants, black leather vest.  Accessories include a necklace with bloody human ears.  And if you get a hold of a motorbike that would be super cool!

 

Personality and background -
Daryl is a Southern hunter and expert tracker who constantly lives in the shadow of his brother, Merle. Like his brother, he is initially shown as volatile, short-tempered, and of questionable repute, but is tolerated by the group due to his survival skills. Daryl becomes furious when Merle goes missing due to Rick Grimes having handcuffed him to a rooftop in Atlanta , eventually leading Rick Grimes to start a search party for him. However, they are unable to find Merle. It is later revealed in season 3, that Merle and Daryl had initially intended to ransack the Atlanta group for supplies.
As the series progresses, Daryl becomes more independent and eventually starts to bond with the group. At the end of the second season, he becomes Rick's right-hand man as Shane becomes more and more unhinged. By season 3, Daryl becomes one of the series main protagonists and has largely shed his aloof personality, with the exception of dealing with strangers. From very early in the series, he is shown to be an extremely proficient zombie killer in both close quarters and ranged weaponry, and later becomes Rick's trusted right-hand man and protector. He also becomes "the go-to guy" of sorts for the group and is now well-liked and respected for his endeavours.

Daryl is now one of only five members of the original Atlanta group who continues to survive, along with Rick, Carl, Glenn, and Carol.

Daryl appears as the main playable protagonist in the 2013 video game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, focusing on him and Merle during the early days of the zombie apocalypse.  Daryl is shown to be an expert marksman, but his signature weapon is a Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow, which Reedus says he takes home after filming.

I came across this Baby today.  A video put together by Dustin Young.  An awesome soundtrack and Cosplay pics taken at the 2013 Anime Expo.

This week's character profile is Syndra from League of Legends!

Character's name - Syndra, the Dark Sovereign
Featured In - Syndra is a Champion in League of Legends. Syndra was born with immense magical power. A bit of a rebel she uses her power without restraint. Her abilities include transcendent, Dark Sphere, Force of Will, Scatter the Weak and Unleashed Power.
Hair colour - Super long and SILVER



Eye colour - They appear to be PINK/PURPLE

Costume - I would describe her as a sexy warrior.  Thigh high tights or boots, corset, shoulder pads, cool neck jewellery and beautiful headress.  In some cases you don't actually need to spend a fortune on a Cosplay outfit.  You can take some simple pieces and dress them up.  In fact most awesome costumes are handmade!



Personality and background - Throughout her youth in Ionia, Syndra's reckless use of magic terrified the elders of her village. They took her to a remote temple, leaving her in the care of an old mage. To Syndra's delight, the mage explained that the temple was a school - a place where she could develop her talents under his guidance. Though she learned much during her time there, Syndra no longer felt her power growing as it had in her youth. Her frustration grew, and she finally confronted her mentor, demanding an explanation. He revealed that he had dampened Syndra's magic, hoping to help her learn control and restraint. Accusing him of betrayal, she advanced on the mage, commanding him to lift the spell that was holding her back. He backed away, telling her that if she couldn't control herself, he would be forced to nullify Syndra's magic completely. Furious, she summoned her power and dashed the old man against the walls. With her mentor dead, Syndra felt the rush of her unbounded potential for the first time in years. Though she had won her freedom, she refused to return to the society that had tried to steal her gift. Instead, Syndra decided to claim her former prison as a stronghold. Pushing the boundaries of her magic, she tore the structure from its foundations and raised it into the sky. Free to delve further into her art, Syndra now aims to grow powerful enough to destroy the weak, foolish leaders of Ionia - and anyone else who would dare to shackle her greatness.
